Voting Report for Alpha Folio, 2002-2003 Here are the results of voting for views in the Alpha folios during the previous two calendar years. I have kept a count of votes for each view during its tour around the circuit. When a view reached the end of its circuit, I tallied all the votes that it had received, regardless of when the votes were cast, and credited them to that slide as of its day of removal. Therefore, some slides may have received votes during more than one year, but all votes were credited in the year in which the slide was removed. You will notice some anomalies: Voting was very sporadic. Some people never voted;
some voted for many slides in one box. These votes therefore don't necessarily reflect the best
views-they only show that the slides drew some votes from some people. Interpret them as you
wish. The top vote-getting photographer for slides removed in 2002 received 31 points; the one
in tenth position received 17 points. The points for the top position in 2002 would not have been
enough to reach even the top ten in 2003, because in 2003 the photographer in tenth position
received 39 points, and the photographer in first position received 70 points! Go figure. In 2002, Folio E had only three slides retired with votes; OX-9 had only four. In 2003, folio KM had only one slide retire with votes; OX-11 had two. Of course in 2002 folio E was just completing its first round, and in 2003, KM was newly-combined from K and M. And as always, the OX folios spent only a part of the year on this continent. There were 302 total points distributed across the 123 slides retired in 2002, while in 2003 there were 743 points awarded, distributed across the 225 slides retired that year. Votes were assigned points on a sliding scale: A first-place vote won three points; a second-place earned two points, and third-place earned one point. In 2002, the second most popular slide received eleven points. In 2003, that score would not have qualified the slide for inclusion in the top fifteen vote-getting slides.
